Paul Bernasconi is an award-winning creative director, marketing strategist and business development leader.
An Australian by birth, New Yorker by choice, Paul has created campaigns and marketing programs for some of the world’s most successful global brands and organizations including; Toyota, Canon, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Disney, Sharp Electronics, Alitalia and the Government of India.
Paul began his career at Grey Sydney before joining the creative boutique Omon, where he quickly became recognized as one of the most successful advertising writers in Australia, winning Clios for his work on Casio and Beiersdorf Pharmaceuticals. He relocated to the US to take the creative lead at Omon’s first overseas office, in New York City. Within one year, the New York Times had dubbed Omon NY one of its “agencies to watch”.
In the mid-nineties, Paul and two partners formed a new agency, Oasis. By the time it was acquired by the Japanese communications giant Dentsu, Oasis had grown to more than $50mm in billings, with a New York staff of 40.
As Vice President / Executive Creative Director of Dentsu Network West, Paul oversaw the creative direction for global brands within the US network. In 2010, he personally integrated the traditional agency business of the ML Rogers agency into 360i – Dentsu’s renowned digital network. In 2013, his corporate responsibility program for Toyota in the wake of Hurricane Sandy – “Meals Per Hour” – became that company’s most successful philanthropic initiative ever, with more than a million online views and coverage on CNN, Yahoo and the New York Times.
An avid film historian and critic, Paul most recently served as Associate Producer on the acclaimed documentary, “Gore Vidal. The United States of Amnesia.”
He lives in Manhattan and is active in the Australian American Association, Friends of the Highline and Catskill Mountainkeeper.
